How to Bulk Generate Images and Videos With Meta AI
Published · Extino Team

Short answer: Meta AI is free for everyday use, and it makes four images for every prompt. To work in bulk, you need three things: a long list of prompts, a way to run them one after another, and a way to save the results without tapping Save on every image. You can do it by hand in the Meta AI app or on meta.ai, or use a Chrome extension such as MetaAi Automator, which queues your prompts in your own Meta AI account and downloads every image and video for you. Either way, Meta's free daily usage limit still applies, and Meta AI isn't available in every country yet.

What Meta AI gives you for free
Meta AI runs in the Meta AI app, on meta.ai, and inside Instagram and WhatsApp. Here's what Meta itself says about media:
- Images: type a prompt that starts with "imagine" or "create an image", and "Meta AI will generate four images based on your prompt".
- Saving: you tap the image you want, then tap Save. There's no "save all" step described on Meta's help page.
- Video: select an image you generated, tap Animate, add an optional prompt and music, then tap Animate again. Meta says it "may take some time" to finish.
- Cost: Meta says Meta AI with its Muse Image model is "free for everyday creation". For people who want more, it's part of Meta's paid Meta One plans (Core and Premium, launched September 2026).
Meta AI limits in 2026
This is the part most tutorials skip, and many older videos still call Meta AI "unlimited". That's out of date.
| Limit | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Free daily usage limit | Meta's help page says that when you reach it, you can upgrade to Meta One Core or Premium, or wait until your free limit refreshes |
| No published number | Meta doesn't publish how many images the free limit allows, so plan batches around what your own account shows |
| Four images per prompt | 100 prompts gives you up to 400 images to review and save |
| Not available everywhere | "The Meta AI and Vibes apps and websites are not yet available everywhere", and some features may not be live in your area |
| Labels | Meta says it labels AI-generated images made with its products |
| Community rules | AI content that breaks Meta's Community Standards can be removed, the same as any other post |
Does Meta AI have a daily limit?
Yes. Meta's own help page describes a "free daily usage limit" that refreshes. If you hit it, you either wait or pay for a Meta One plan. No tool changes that, including ours.
How many images does Meta AI make per prompt?
Four. That's great for choice, and it's also why saving by hand takes so long in a big batch.
Step 1: Build a big prompt list in ten minutes
The slow part of batching usually isn't the generating. It's writing 100 good prompts. The fix is to mix three short lists instead of writing each prompt from scratch.
- Write 5 subjects (for example: a lighthouse, a fox, a coffee cup, a city street, a sailboat).
- Write 5 styles (watercolour, paper cut-out, 1970s film photo, clay model, ink sketch).
- Write 4 settings (at sunrise, in heavy rain, under neon lights, in fresh snow).
Every mix of one from each list is a new prompt, so 5 × 5 × 4 = 100 prompts.
In Google Sheets, put the subjects in A2:A6, the styles in B2:B6 and the settings in C2:C5. Then paste this into E2:
=FLATTEN(FLATTEN(A2:A6&", "&TRANSPOSE(B2:B6))&", "&TRANSPOSE(C2:C5))You'll get 100 prompts in one column. Read them once and delete the odd ones, because a few mixes always come out strange. Save the column as a CSV if you plan to use an automation tool.
Tip: start every prompt the same way, for example "Create an image of…". Meta's help page suggests starting image prompts with "imagine" or "create an image", and a consistent opening keeps results consistent.
Step 2: Choose how to run the batch
Option 1: Run it by hand (free)
Paste one prompt, wait for the four images, save the ones you want, and repeat.
- Good for: batches of 10 to 20 prompts, or when you want to pick each image carefully.
- Downsides: 100 prompts means 100 pastes and up to 400 saves. It's easy to lose track of which images came from which prompt.
Option 2: Run it by hand in short sessions (free)
Split your list into smaller daily sessions, so a big list fits inside the free daily limit.
- Good for: steady posting schedules.
- Downsides: the clicking and saving are the same, just spread out.
Option 3: Use MetaAi Automator (paid, from £1.99 a month)
MetaAi Automator is a Chrome extension from Extino. It queues a list of prompts into your own Meta AI session, lets you set the timing between generations, and downloads every image and video into folders while the batch runs.
- Good for: faceless creators, small sellers and social media managers who make images or clips in batches every week.
- Downsides, honestly: it runs within Meta's rules, so the free daily limit still applies and it can't raise it. It only works where Meta AI works. It runs in Chrome. The Chrome Web Store listing says it handles your sign-in (authentication) information and page content in order to work. And it's a paid tool: £1.99 a month, £14.99 a year or £29.99 once.

How to use MetaAi Automator, step by step
- Install MetaAi Automator from the Chrome Web Store and pin it to your toolbar.
- Open meta.ai in the same Chrome browser and sign in with your own account.
- Open the extension's sidebar on the Meta AI page.
- Load your prompts. The product page says to upload a CSV of prompts.
- Pick images or video for the batch.
- Set the timing between generations. Slower is kinder to your account and to Meta's limits.
- Press start and walk away. Files download into folders as the batch runs.
- If you hit Meta's daily limit, stop and run the rest after it refreshes.
Tips for better batches
- One idea per prompt. A prompt that asks for three things at once gives muddled images.
- Keep a naming habit. Keep your prompt list next to the downloads so you know which prompt made which file.
- Review before you post. Four images per prompt means you'll always have a few weak ones. Delete them before they reach your schedule.
- Use Animate on your best stills, not all of them. Video takes longer to generate, so spend it on the images that already work.
- Check commercial use yourself. If you plan to sell AI images (for example on print-on-demand products), read Meta's terms and your marketplace's AI rules first.
Is it allowed to automate Meta AI?
This is a fair question, and we won't pretend it's simple. Meta's Terms of Service say you may not access or collect data from Meta's products "using automated means (without our prior permission)". Any tool that automates Meta AI, ours included, sits close to that line.
What we can tell you about MetaAi Automator:
- It runs in your own browser, in your own Meta AI account, and does the same steps you'd do by hand.
- It doesn't get around Meta's daily limit, and we don't claim it does.
- We don't promise that your account is "safe" or that automation is "undetectable". Nobody honestly can.
So use sensible timing, stay within Meta's limits, and read Meta's terms before you run large batches. MetaAi Automator is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Meta.
